Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, transfer to Nyungwe forest national park and isumo hike
you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and drive southwards to Nyungwe forest National park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en-route. After, you will make your way to the park to participate in the Isumo waterfalls hike which will give you the chance to explore the beautiful trails in the park. While hiking the trails, you will come across the different forest benches; the first bench with the steep sided gorge perfect for photography, white begonias can be seen, on the second bench and the third bench characterized white flowers, heart-shaped leaves and other attractions. When you get to the end of the trail, you will get to watch the breathtaking Isumo waterfalls where you will also get to watch bird species like. the blue turaco, Ross’s turaco, coqui Francolin, long tailed cisticola, bubbling cisticola, Miombo wren warbler, Chubb’s cisticola and many more the and if that is not enough, it also offers a great picnic bench can be a great resting place for the tourists interested in enjoying the sounds of natures from the birds chirping in the trees. Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. You will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch and spend the rest of your day relaxing
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer back to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the park where you will transfer to the park where you will embark on
