Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark in an early morning game drives that will give you the chance to watch a number of game animals especially the herbivores like the elephants grazing within the plains, the rhinos, you will also get to see a number of remarkable views for the park and a number of rewarding attractions after your game drive you will transferred to the lodge for lunch and refreshments and later on participate in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. Day 2: Half Game drive and transfer back to kigali
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and on this day you will take part in the game drive that will give you the chance to watch a number of animals in the park like the different animals which rise early to graze ;like the elephants, gazelles, bush bucks, topis, carnivores like the lions, leopards looking for their prey, hyenas, leopards catching their prey in the wild and many other animal species for a rewarding safari experience after the rewarding encounter your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali having lunch en-route and later be dropped off at a hotel of your choice in Kigali City for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Pick up and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Depending on your location in Kigali city, you will be picked up by pour guide to transfer you to Mgahinga national park. before you transfer to the park, you will have a briefing session of your safari experience and later take part in the Kigali city tour which will lead you to sites like the Kigali genocide memorial museum to understand more about the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will also get to visit Kimironko market to purchase some souvenirs. After you will make your way to Mgahinga national park to participate in the gorilla trekking experience. the drive will take between 4-5 hours through the katuna boarder and on reaching head to your hotel for refreshment, dinner and overnight stay at Mount Gahinga Safari Lodge – Luxury, Lake Mulehe Lodge –Mid range and Traveler Best Camp – Budget.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park
After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch served from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will begin trekking in the jungle in search of gentle and this takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas may have moved in search of food. Some of different attractions that can be seen include; the l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different bird species like the Albertine endemic species.
When you get to the gorillas, you will spend an hour with the species watching a number of their rewarding features. After the safari experience, you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking experience in Uganda and then drive out of the park and drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice or Kigali international airport and the end of your 2 days Uganda gorilla. Upon arrival our driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
