Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga national park
Depending on your location in Kampala on the first day of the 4 days Bwindi and Mgahinga National Park safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 8 to 9 hours’ drive inclusive with a stopover at the equator to participate in the equator for the northern and southern hemisphere. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga national park and Batwa trail experience
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking experience in Uganda accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; you will watch a number of attractions from the numerous bird species, a number of different primates as you make your way to the this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After the safari experience you will participate in the Batwa trail experience to watch a number of different features of the previously forest people with a number of unique features which will give you the chance to understand more about their unique culture by watching their cultural dances, you will also get to taste their food among other rewarding features in the wild.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will relax for a moment enjoy your hotel and later on make your way to Bwindi impenetrable national park the home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas for a memorable safari experience.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species such as l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, birds among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari. After the one hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then drive out of the park and drive to Kigali.nUpon arrival our driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
