Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to ziwa rhino sanctuary

Depending on your location in Kampala city or your hotel in the city, you will be picked up as early as 7:00 am to embark on your drive to Murchison falls national park, the largest national park in Uganda. after the briefing session about your safari you will now embark on the drive along the Kampala-Gulu high way having a stopover in luwero district for some fresh organic fruits like oranges, pineapples, passion fruits, mangoes and so on. When you get to ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will participate in the rhino tracking. The safari experience is an on-foot experience which involves hiking along the trails in the sanctuary which will lead you to the species. On reaching the species you will get to spend some time watching the rhinos in their natural habitat as they go about their daily activities. You will also have the chance to ask as many questions as possible about the species with the knowledgeable guide who will give you all the relevant information about the species. After the safari experience you can either participate in the nature walks which will lead you to a number of attractions like the elands, gazelles, the shoe bill stork, water bucks, bush bucks and many more to make your safari experience quite rewarding or you can visit Murchison falls national park where you will participate in the top of the falls hike to watch the world’s most powerful falls. After spending time at the top of the falls, you will then make your way to participate in the afternoon/ evening boat cruise which will also give you rewarding views of the bottom of the falls in the park watching a number of bird species like African fish eagles, Red throated bee eaters, skimmers, cattle egrets not forgetting the rare shoebill stork and others. After the safari experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Murchison falls morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Wake up to a tasty breakfast in the Murchison Falls National Park and set out for another eventful day. Your driver guide will be waiting for you to get ready and set to embark on the second game drive in the Murchison falls national park. You will follow a different trail for a different experience and a chance to spot more wildlife. This park is a home to a big number of birds so if you are interested in the birds, this morning game drive is a great chance to spot a number of those. Right after the 4-hour morning game drive, you will head back to the accommodation to escape the hot scorching midday sun. Lunch will be served and relax at the lodge terrace or in your room waiting for the next activity. In the later afternoon when the sun has calmed down abit, you will make your way to the River Nile banks where you will have your boat trip. This boat trip gives the ultimate feel of the Murchison falls and their strength the closer you get. You also get to spot the aquatic life of the park and these are the crocodiles and the hippopotami that stay at the river banks. Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park national park, south western part of Uganda which will take you about 9 hours to reach the park. You will have en-route lunch at Mbarara. Continues with your drive to the park having spectacular views of the farmlands, traditional homesteads, tea plantations and many more. You will also have stopovers for photography to soak in the beauty of the west. Upon arrival in the park, check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Have an early morning have breakfast at 6:30 am and with packed lunch boxes. You will be pick by your driver guide to transfer you to park headquarters for briefing about gorilla. After, you will make your way to the habituated gorilla family which you will get to spend an hour with when you get contact with them. The gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi impenetrable national park will take between 2-7 hours when you get in contact with them taking their pictures, watching their behavioral patterns in the wild. After the safari experience, you will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. At lake Bunyonyi, you will participate in the boat cruise on Uganda deepest lake where you can visit akampene island which has a unique history, you will watch a number of bird species and if you’re interested you can also go swimming in the bilharzia free waters. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Boat cruise and Departure to Kampala /Entebbe

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out the lodge go for boat ride on the Lake where you will be able to explore some of the 29 islands such as the akampene island which was a punishment island where young girls were abandoned by their parents when they got impregnated before marriage and many other islands. Alternatively, instead of a boat cruise, you can participate in a village walk to understand more about the culture of the people of Uganda and their unique cultures.
