Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Domestic flight from Pakuba airstrip
In the mid-morning, there is a scheduled domestic flight from the Entebbe International airport to the Pakuba airstrip. This is a scheduled domestic flight operated by the aero link leaving EBB at 1200 and arriving at the Pakuba/Chobe airstrip at 1300. You will arrive at your hotel for check in and settle in as lunch is prepared. Enjoy your lunch and thereafter in the evening set out for your first chance with the wild animal. You will drive for a night game drive in the Murchison falls national park. You will get a chance to spot the Big 4 animals living in this park that is the lions, leopards, elephants as well as the buffaloes, the beautiful giraffes and also the smaller game such as the Uganda kobs, the wild pigs, impalas to mention but a few. Return to the lodge early enough to freshen up and have dinner. Day 2: Murchison falls morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Wake up to a tasty breakfast in the Murchison falls national park and set out for another eventful day. Your driver guide will be waiting for you to get ready and set to embark on the second game drive in the Murchison falls national park. You will follow a different trail for a different experience and a chance to spot more wildlife. This park is a home to a big number of birds so if you are interested in the birds, this morning game drive is a great chance to spot a number of those. Right after the 4-hour morning game drive, you will head back to the accommodation to escape the hot scorching midday sun. Lunch will be served and relax at the lodge terrace or in your room waiting for the next activity. In the later afternoon when the sun has calmed down abit, you will make your way to the River Nile banks where you will have your boat trip. This boat trip gives the ultimate feel of the Murchison falls and their strength the closer you get. You also get to spot the aquatic life of the park and these are the crocodiles and the hippopotami that stay at the river banks. Day 3: Hike to the top of the falls and transfer to Ziwa rhino sanctuary
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and get ready to exit the park. You will check out of your hotel and drive to connect to the top of the falls for the breathtaking views at the top of Murchison falls national park. This is a great chance to do some birding and take beautiful photos. Leave the top of the falls and transfer to ziwa rhino sanctuary, you will participate in the rhino tracking. The safari experience is an on-foot experience which involves hiking along the trails in the sanctuary which will lead you to the species. On reaching the species you will get to spend some time watching the rhinos in their natural habitat as they go about their daily activities. You will also have the chance to ask as many questions as possible about the species with the knowledgeable guide who will give you all the relevant information about the species. After the safari experience you can either participate in the nature walks which will lead you to a number of attractions like the elands, gazelles, the shoe bill stork, water bucks, bush bucks and many more to make your safari experience quite rewarding or you will make your way back to Kampala city. After the safari experience, head back to Kampala city where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kampala city where you will check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, You will be picked up by your guide start to transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 8 to 9 hours’ drive inclusive with a stopover at the equator. Then after proceed a drive to Mbarara with a stopover for lunch enroute. Continue to drive on the way you will enjoy great views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, beautiful landscapes among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Rest Camp –Budget/Buhoma Haven Lodge –Mid range accommodation
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking
Gorilla Trekking: Wake up have early morning breakfast served with donuts with packed lunch boxes. Your driver will pick you and transfers you to the park head quarter for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking before heading out your incredible experience of gorilla trekking in green beautiful montane rain forest. After a short briefing you will be accompanied by the ranger and you’re free to ask him any question about mountain gorillas. The trek can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of gorillas. Once gorillas are found, you will be given one hour to watch them as they play around, feed their younger ones, learn their life style as well as enjoying your packed lunch boxes with memorable picture taking for your future remembrance. After hike back to the park headquarters meet your safari driver –drives you back to the lodge for refreshments. Later you will participate in the Batwa trail experience which will give you an insight of the formerly forest people that have a number of unique culture and value that you will get to learn., dinner and overnight stay as the night before.
Day 6: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
Return to Kampala: Wake up on leisurely morning and have breakfast, check out of the lodge and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala. Upon arrival in Kampala your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at your hotel in Kampala depending on your schedule.
