Gatamaiyu Forest Bird Checklist : Gatamaiyu forest is located just 55 kilometres away from Nairobi city which gives easy access to travellers interested in bird watching in the forest. The forest is famous for its rich bio diversity with 75% indigenous plants/ trees that can be seen, 8% exotic forests characterized by the bamboo and the scrublands.
There are a number of different activities that can be carried out include hiking, visiting the waterfalls and nature walks. For travellers interested in birding in the forest, they will get to watch over 200 bird species and you can get the chance to watch about 75 bird species on your daily birding expedition.
