Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, connect with your guide and transfer to Akagera National Park. In the park, you will enjoy the sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, which will give you the chance to watch the sunset, watch out for mammal species like the elephants as they quench their thirst, the shoebill stork, and the kingfishers catching their prey. After the safari experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day birding in Akagera National Park

After an early morning breakfast, make your way to the park’s plains, which will give you access to several bird species, such as the water birds. As you embark on the boat cruise on Lake Ihema, you will also get to watch the savannah species when you hike through the savannah trails. After the experience, head back to your hotel fr dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day game drive and departure

Enjoy your breakfast and later participate in a full-day game drive in the park. This will start from the southern part to the northern part of the park. The safari experience will give you the chance to watch several mammal species like the elands, gazelles, oribi, and many others. You will watch the carnivores like the leopards and lions catching their prey. After the safari experience, head back to your guide, who will transfer you back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice.
