This 4 days Nyungwe and Akagera National Park luxury safari will give you the chance to explore both the bird and the mammal species as you embark on your safari. The safari will lead you to Nyungwe National Park, where you will participate in birding and have access to over 300 bird species. You will also get to embark on your Rwanda safari. With this detailed 4 days safari, here are some of the notable attractions that you won’t miss out on your safari experience in Rwanda.

Day 1: Full day game drive in Akagera National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, connect with your guide for the safari and make your way to Akagera National Park. On reaching the park, you will participate in the full-day game drive, which covers both the southern and northern sectors. The full-day game drive will give you access to mammal species grazing in the savannah plains, and the carnivores can also be seen catching their prey in the wild. After the full day drive, head to Ruzizi Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Hot air balloon safari in Akagera and game drive

Wake up early and participate in the hot air balloon safari, which involves a flight through the park, observing several rewarding attractions. Some of the notable species you will observe include the exceptional views of elephant herds grazing within the plains, you will watch different bird species flying within the skies, and many other rewarding attractions. After the experience, have a bush breakfast and later participate in the boat cruise on Lake Ihema, which will lead you to exceptional views of the animals quenching their thirst; you will also watch the shoebill stork, among others. After making your way back to Kigali city, you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: transfer to Nyungwe National Park

At an agreed location of your choice in Kigali city, our guide will meet you and give you a briefing session for your birding experience. After the session, you will embark on the journey southwards to Nyungwe National Park.  The journey to the park will give you the chance to watch several attractions, including the rolling hills of Rwanda, and you will also have the chance to visit the King’s palace. The palace will give you the chance to understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda, their long-horned cattle, and other rewarding attractions there. After the safari experience, make your way to the park and get the chance to embark on the canopy walk, which will give you the chance to enjoy exceptional views of the park from an aerial view. You will walk along a 90 meters metallic walkway as you enjoy watching attractions like the chimpanzees and monkey species as they swing from tree branch to tree branch. After connecting with your guide, who will then transfer you to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 4: Full-day birding  experience in Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, set out along the karamba birding trail, which will give you the chance to watch several different bird species like the Turacos, Warblers like the Red-faced woodland, endemic species like the African Green Broadbill, Kungwe Apalis, Mountain masked Apalis, and many other species. You will also get to enjoy several different primates as you hike along the trails to access the different bird species. After the safari experience, head back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, and this will mark the end of your 4 days nyungwe an Akagera National Park luxury safari.
