1 Day Kampala City Tour: Kampala city, also known as the city of 7 hills, should not be missed on a traveler’s bucket list for cities to visit on your Uganda safari. Kampala city is not only the capital city of Uganda but also a one-stop destination for diverse culture, historical landmarks and chaotic street life, among others, that will introduce a unique experience to combining different safari experiences that will offer a unique experience. This 1 day Kampala city tour will start as early as 7:00 am, starting with a briefing session for the safari, the rules and regulations to follow to ensure you have a safe experience. The first experience will focus on faith-based tourism, where you will visit destinations like the Gaddafi national mosque, the biggest mosque in Uganda and East Africa, which offers exceptional views of the city centre. You will also visit Namirembe Cathedral, the starting point for the Anglican faith in Uganda, which is also the burial site for early missionaries like Bishop Hannington. After, you will make your way to Lubiri Palace, also known as the “Twekobe,” with significant cultural history in the Buganda region. At the palace, you will visit the Idi Amin torture chambers where several Uganda were killed and tortured by the world-famous dictator Idi Amin Dada during his reign of terror in Uganda. Once you make your way to the Uganda museum, which will give you an insight into Uganda before and after the colonial rule, as you visit the different houses, which are part of the living museum, like the Ankole house, Toro, Acholi, baganda and Teso houses, that will help you witness unique cultural aspects of the different regions in the country. End your Kampala city tour by visiting the local restaurants where you will enjoy a local treat of some of the country’s finest dishes, like Luwombo, a traditional stew prepared in banana leaves. You will also enjoy the “rolex” which is not worn but eaten in Uganda.
