With chimpanzee habituation in Rwanda, it will lead you to Nyungwe national park also famous for chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda and to be quite different from the latter is the fact that travelers will get the opportunity to watch how the primates are trained to get accustomed to human presence which will give you the chance to watch the authentic reactions of the species through the different training sessions in the wild. When you embark on your lake kivu safari, you will have the opportunity to explore the islands, enjoy the boat cruise which will make your safari experience quite rewarding.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Kivu
At a location of your choice in Kigali City, you will be picked up by a representative of our tour company who will be your guide for the day. On meeting up with the guide, you will participate in the briefing session for the experience and then embark on your way to the Lake. You will drive southwards to having a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en-route. After you will make your way to the Nyamirundi Island on the lake, where you will visit ‘Ingoboka’ a coffee plantation which you will get to watch how the coffee is grown, you will also get the chance to watch how the coffee is processed from it being harvest, dried and then processed into some of the best coffee in the world. Interesting about your coffee tour you will also get to have a cup of coffee. Later on you will connect with your guide to participate in the boat cruise which will offered exceptional views of the different bird species, the marine life and many other attractions. After the safari experience you will transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation and transfer back to Kigali city
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to Gisovu chimpanzee community where you will embark on chimpanzee habituation in Nyungwe National Park which will give you the chance to watch the species and how they are trained to get accustomed to human presence. Interesting about chimpanzee habituation is the fact that it is an all-day activity which will give you the opportunity to spend more time with the species watching their different training sessions. During your chimpanzee habituation process in the park will give you the chance studying their behavior, feeding patterns, how they build their nests and many other rewarding features of the chimpanzees. After the safari experience, you will head back to your starting point where you will be presented your chimpanzee habituation certificate. After you will connect with your guide who will drive you back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice and the end of your 2 days chimpanzee habituation and lake kivu safari.
