Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark on the late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, elephants quenching their thirst from the river banks, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, the king fishers and many other water birds that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps.
Day 2: Full day Game drive and Nocturnal game drive
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and go for a morning game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch head back to take part in the afternoon game drive which will give you the opportunity to watch the carnivores like the lions, hyenas, leopards catching their prey in the wild for a rewarding safari experience after the rewarding encounter. After the game drive, head back to your hotel for refreshments and dinner and later participate in the make your way to your hotel for dinner and later in the night you will embark on your nocturnal game drive. The drive will give you the most rewarding experience watching the park coming to life in the night with a number of carnivores hunting for prey, you will watch the lions, hyenas, leopards, hyenas catching their prey as you watch the herbivores in their hiding spots head back to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3: Walk the line tour and Transfer Back to Kigali.
After your early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you and transfer you to the park to participate in the walk the line tour with will give you the most rewarding safari experience led by the park guide who will take you on a walk at the top of the hill which will give you fascinating views of the park from all directions as you observe the different attractions in the park like the herbivores, carnivores and many other attractions. After your experience, your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali having lunch en-route and later be dropped off at a hotel of your choice in Kigali City or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home. You can do a city tour on this day if you didn’t get to do it on your first day. End of Tour.
