3 Days Birding in Serengeti National Park Safari: Serengeti National Park is one of the top destinations for birding in Tanzania for a rewarding safari experience in the wild. For your birding experience, you will have the chance to watch over 500 species as you explore the different spots, like the lush landscapes, the Serenora valley, and other key birding spots in the park that will make your safari experience quite rewarding. In this 3 days birding in Serengeti National Park, you will have the chance to explore over 500 bird species, as you also get to watch several different wildlife species in the wild, which will make your safari experience quite rewarding.

Day 1: Transfer to the Serengeti National Park

At a location of your choice in Arusha city, our guide will pick you up and transfer you to Serengeti National Park. The drive to the park will give you access to several attractions, including scenic landscapes on the way to the park. When you get to the park, get ready to participate in the afternoon game drive centered on birding. Some of the different bird species that can be seen include: the raptors like Secretary Bird, Black Eagles, Lesser Kestrel, and Pallid Harrier, and other species that can be seen include: Kori Bustard, Lilac-breasted Roller, Grey Crowned Crane, Southern Ground Hornbill, and many others. After the safari experience, you will head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2&3: Full-day birding experience

On the 2nd and 3rd day, you will visit the Ndutu area and Moru Kopjes, and the Seronera River Valley. This will give you access to several different bird species as you embark on a birding game drive. Some of the different bird species you will watch are the water birds like Kingfishers, and raptors, including the Black-headed Gonolek, flamingoes, endemic species like the Fischer’s Lovebird, Grey-breasted Spurfowl, Rufous-tailed Weaver, Usambiro Barbet, and the Yellow-collared Lovebird, and many other rewarding bird species. On the last day of your birding experience in Serengeti National Park, you will be dropped off in Arusha, marking the end of your 3 days of birding in the park.

Important to note about your safari experience is that the best time for birding is from November to April, which gives you access to migratory species and the chance to watch native species during their breeding season. You can also take part in the birding experience in December during the short rains, which is ideal for spotting their nesting behavior.
