Detailed itinerary
Day 1: transfer to Nyungwe and canopy walk
Depart Kigali city and make your way to Nyungwe National Park south of Rwanda reaching in time to participate in the canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park. The canopy walk is accessed when you hike the Igishigishigi Trail in Rwanda. While hiking the trail, look out for several attractions like the Albertine endemic bird species, like the Rwenzori batis, primates like the blue monkey can also be seen on the hike and so many more. When you get to the canopy walkway, you will spend an hour enjoying the walk on the metallic pathway, enjoy exceptional views of the park from an aerial view, and you will also have the chance to watch the primates swinging within the tree branches, and many other attractions. After the experience, you had to go to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Imbaraga trail hike
Wake up very early and make your way to the park to embark on the Imbaraga trail hike. This is one of the hardest trails in the park, famous among hikers interested in enjoying the hiking experience in the park. On the trail, get ready to watch several attractions as you hike through the mountainous terrain. You will watch its four waterfalls, thick rainforests that are home to several mammals and primate species, birds, inclusive. After the full day experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Isumo waterfalls hike and departure
After breakfast, head to the park to embark on the isumo trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park. The trail is famous for the Isumo waterfalls that can be seen at the end, but it is also important to note that the trail has other unique, breathtaking views and attractions like the tea plantations, rainforest ravines, lush gorges, and different monkey and bird species. At the waterfalls, you will enjoy taking pictures of the primates and the beautiful waterfalls that offer a calming effect while in their presence. After the experience, your guide will transfer you back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, which will mark the end of your 3 Days Nyungwe Forest National Park Hiking Safari.
