Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City tour & Mgahinga National Park
Upon your arrival in Kigali city, you will be met by our company representative and transfer to Kigali city where you will embark on a city tour visiting Kimironko market and the Kigali genocide memorial museum. After the safari experience, have lunch and transfer to Mgahinga National Park through the cyanika border reaching in the evening. You will get to your hotel in the evening and time willing, you will get to participate in the evening cultural experience visiting a cultural group. Dinner and overnight stay at a designated hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00 am. After briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. With gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park, you will have to hike the Virunga mountains in Africa that is mount sabyinyo, mount muhabura and mount gahinga which will give you access to the habituated gorilla families that will get to access the gorilla families in the wild for a memorable safari. After your gorilla trekking experience in Uganda, you will then have an optional community tour or village walk. Dinner and overnight at your selected hotel.
Day 3: Mount sabyinyo hike
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the park headquarters to participate in Mount sabyinyo hike. While hiking the mountain, get ready to watch a number of different attractions like; the numerous primate species like the golden monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, Dent’s monkey and as you hike along its slopes you can also get to see a number of animal species like forest elephant, buffaloes and many other rewarding attractions. You will get to hike to the three peaks depending on your preference and interesting about the peak is the fact that you will be in three countries, Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. After the safari experience, you will make your way back to your starting point connect with your guide to transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala /Entebbe
After an early morning breakfast and make your way to Kampala, a stopover at the equator at Kayabwe, you will also have lunch. After you will make your back to be dropped at a location of your choice in Kampala City or Entebbe international airport.
