5 days Akagera National Park Safari is a Rwanda travel package that gives a Rwanda Safari Tour Excursion to go through Akagera National Park by encountering Boat cruise on Lake Ihema , Rhino tracking , game drives in Akagera and hot air Balloon tours

Day one: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise. 

You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark on the late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Mid-range)

Day 2: Rhino tracking and afternoon community tour 

Rise up early and go participate in rhino tracking which will give you an up-close look at the rhinos which involves on foot walking to the rhinos to observe their behaviour in the wild for an amazing safari experience. Later in the afternoon you will embark on a community cultural tour to one of the local communities neighboring the park. Get an opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance troupe. You can also visit some craft stalls in the community and support the local community by purchasing a few souvenirs for yourself and loved ones. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Mid-range) Karenge bush camp (budget)

Day Three: Full day Game drives

Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will embark in the evening game drives and get to watch a number of wildlife species that you might have missed out during the morning game drives which will give you clear views of the early risers in the park like the elephants, rhinos, oribi and many other rewarding attractions. in the evening game drives you will get the chance to watch a number of carnivores hunting for their prey as you watch a number of herbivores heading back to their hiding spots. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Mid-range) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day Four: Walk the line tour and evening boat cruise.

After your early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you and transfer you to the park to participate in the walk the line tour with will give you the most rewarding safari experience led by the park guide who will take you on a walk at the top of the hill which will give you fascinating views of the park from all directions as you observe the different attractions in the park like the herbivores, carnivores and many other attractions. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge (Mid-range) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day Five. Hot air balloon and Transfer back to the park

Wake up very early in the morning and head to the take-off area in kayitaba area of the park where you will be welcomed by staff who will take you through a briefing session as you watch how they prepares the hot air balloon as you enjoy an early morning coffee and a snack after, you will be invited into the basket and the flight will be started. During the flight you will have exceptional views of the park as you watch the different herds of animals, unique water sources as you also take pictures for an amazing experience. After the experience you will be rewarded a certificate as appreciation for your participation in the activity. After your experience, your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home. You can do a Rwanda city tour on this day if you didn’t get to do it on your first day. End of Tour.
