DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN KIGALI, TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK AND BOAT CRUISE

You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark in an early  morning game drives that will give you the chance to watch a number of game animals especially the herbivores  like the elephants grazing within the plains, the rhinos, you will also get to see a number of remarkable views for the park and a number of rewarding attractions after your  game drive you will transferred to the lodge for lunch and refreshments and later on participate in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps.  Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. DAY 2: FULL DAY GAME DRIVES

Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will embark in the evening game drives and get to watch a number of wildlife species that you might have missed out during the morning game drives which will give you clear views of the early risers in the park like the elephants, rhinos, oribi and many other rewarding attractions. in the evening game drives you will get the chance to watch a number of carnivores hunting for their prey as you watch a number of herbivores heading back to their hiding spots. DAY 3: TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast will be served early meet your driver guide for your transfer to Nyungwe forest you will be driven southwards to Nyungwe forest National park watching a number of rewarding attractions like the rolling hills of Rwanda, the homesteads and so on. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en-route. head back to your lodge/ hotel. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (mid-range) Gisakura visitor centre (budget)

DAY 4: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING AND CANOPY WALK

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel with your packed lunch, you will be picked by your guide who will transfer you to Nyungwe national park where you will get to participate in chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk. Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda is quite a rewarding activity which will give you the chance to understand more about the primate species which will give you an amazing time in the park. The activity involves hiking through the forest o the park in order to access the habituated chimpanzee troops, during the activity you will have the chance to observe how they carry out their daily activities, how they carry out their daily activities, their grooming patterns, how they care for their infants, how they construct their nests for overnight stay. After the rewarding experience, you will have your lunch and relaxation. After your lunch you will participate in the canopy walk which will give you the chance to see a number of rewarding and breathtaking views of the park at an ariel view. You will get to see numerous bird species, several primates swinging from one tree branch to another among other rewarding attractions and views. After the experience, you will head back to your hotel or dinner and overnight stay.

 DAY 5: ISUMO WATERFALLS HIKE AND Lake Kivu adventure

Isumo Trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of the most phenomenal day hikes in Rwanda. There is no view greater and more dramatic than seeing the stunning Isumo waterfalls. Many Travellers who take on this trail want to experience the un-rivaled beauty of the waterfalls, get classic photography and watch a number of bird species  that include Rwenzori Turaco as well as primates like L’Hoests monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and blue monkeys among others., after the rewarding experience make your way to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi arriving in time for lunch at your hotel. Later in the afternoon you will head out for a boat cruise on Lake Kivu where you will get a chance to explore some of the islands on the lake as well as birdlife.Drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Emerald hotel kivu

Day 6: Transfer Back to Kigali.

After an early morning breakfast at your  hotel make your way to Kigali City having lunch en-route. You will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali city or at the airport for your scheduled flight back home
