This 6 Days uganda Wildlife & Primate Safari takes to two of the most spectacular savannah national parks in Uganda, Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks. On this 6 days Uganda safari, you will have the opportunity to view countless wildlife species in both national parks. You will also get to trek some of the habituated chimpanzees in Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way to Murchison Falls National Park, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Sanctuary that is located in Nakasongola district, just 125 kilometers from the national park. Here, you will get to track the highly sought-after Rhinoceros species. The sanctuary is the only haven for rhinos in Uganda. You will also see other wildlife animals such as the Shoebill stork bird, zebras, antelopes and so many more. You will then proceed with your transfer to Murchison falls national park where you will embark on an evening game drive and also go on a boat cruise. You will also get to hike to the top of the falls. You will then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will engage in interesting and adventurous activities such as; day game drive, a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel and climax your safari experience with chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge.

Detailed Tour Itinerary for the 6 Days uganda Wildlife & Primate Safari (Murchison Falls & Queen Elizabeth).
Day 1: Pick up from Kampala and transfer to Murchison falls national park.
Pick up & Transfer to Murchison Falls: On the first day of your 6 days uganda Wildlife & Primate Safari, you will be picked up by a guide from Explore Rwanda Tours from your designated hotel in Kampala. Your guide will then transfer you to Murchison falls national park. The national park is located just about 305 kilometers from Kampala and it takes approximately 5 hours to get to the park.
Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Sanctuary: You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After viewing Rhinos and other wildlife animals at the sanctuary, you will drive to Masindi town for lunch and later drive to Murchison falls national park. On arrival in the park, you will check in at the lodge, have dinner and good night’s rest. Accommodation at: Red Chilli Rest Camp (Budget)/ Pakuba Safari Lodge (Mid-range)/ Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury).
Day 2: Morning Game drive and Evening Boat cruise.
Morning Game Drive: After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of River Nile. Enjoy 3-5 hours of exclusive wildlife viewing in the park. While on the game drive, you will have a chance to sight wildlife species like Elephants, the Rothschild giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, Hartebeests, Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, Oribis, Impala and so many others. Return to your lodge for Lunch and rest for a bit.
Evening Boat Cruise: Later in the afternoon, drive to the Paara dock for a boat cruise on the Albert Nile. Boat cruises in Murchison Falls commence at exactly 2pm in the afternoon. You will take a boat trip to the Delta where you will get a panoramic view of the majestic and mighty Murchison falls. Spend quality time (about four to five hours) marveling at nature’s beautiful gifts while sipping a cold beer or cocktail drink of your choice. You will also enjoy seeing crocodiles, hippos and various bird species such as the Kingfisher, cormorants, and the Rare Shoebill Stork among others.
Hike to Top of the Falls (Optional): After your boat cruise experience, you can embark on a hiking expedition to the top of the falls. However, this activity is optional, so make sure to inform our esteemed team of travel consultants in case you want this activity added to your itinerary. Trails around the top of the falls will lead you up to the water’s edge. You will get an opportunity to close to the narrow gorge through which the river plunges. This hiking expedition can take about 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace.
Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth: Meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national park is located in Kasese district, in the western part of Uganda. This national park was first established in 1952 and named after the queen of England. The park is the second largest national park in Uganda, covering an area of 1,978 km². This national park is home to over 612 species of birds and about 95 mammal species. It will take you about an 8⅟₂ hours’ drive to get to Queen Elizabeth national park from Murchison falls national park.
You will have en-route lunch on the way as you continue the journey to the park where you will arrive at the lodge in the evening, check in, have dinner and overnight. Accommodation at; Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Park View Safari Lodge (midrange)/ Pumba Safari Lodge (budget).
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat cruise
Morning Game Drive: Have your breakfast early in the morning and head out for a guided game drive, where you will embark on a lion tracking experience in the national park. There are estimated to be about 40 lions roaming the savannah grasslands of Queen Elizabeth national park. You will get to see the famous tree climbing lions of Ishasha and other animals as well like; hippos, savanna elephants, topi and buffaloes among others. Head back to your lodge for lunch and rest for the afternoon.
Evening Boat Cruise: After having your lunch break, head out for an evening boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise starts at exactly 1pm and can take approximately 2 hours. During your boat cruise, you may sight lots of wildlife such as hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and some species of birds like the great flamingos, Shoebill stock, Ibis and so many others.
Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Explore Creator Lakes
Chimpanzee Trekking: After an early morning breakfast, head out to track chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge which is located in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Chimpanzee tracking can take between 3 to 5 hours since the chimps are always on the move hence you are likely to finish this activity by noon. Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge is conducted in groups of a maximum of 6 members, with only an hour allocated to trackers once the chimpanzees have been located. Head back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Explore Crater Lakes: After having your lunch, you will transfer to Lake Katwe, a salt lake which was formed as a result of volcanic eruptions. While exploring Lake Katwe, you will have an opportunity to interact with some of the locals in the area, who also take part in salt mining activities in the lake. They mine rock salt from Lake Katwe and then sell it to wholesalers, retailers and salt manufacturers. You can also pay a visit to Lake Munyanyange which is just 2 kilometers away from Lake Katwe. Here, you will get to see different bird species like; the flamingos, pied avocet, black winged stilt, black terns, sea gulls among others. After visiting the crater lakes, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala
Transfer to Kampala: After having a relaxed breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a return journey to Kampala with a stopover at the equator monuments in Kayabwe. Lunch will be en-route to Kampala. Basing on your arrival time in Kampala, you can have an optional half day tour of Kampala city or head straight to your hotel. Alternatively, you can have your guide drop you off at Entebbe International Airport in time to catch your evening flight back home.End of tour.
