Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Depending on your location in Kampala, our guide will pick you up and brief you about your 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee habituation Safari in Uganda. The drive to the park from Kampala will take approximately 4-6 hours. Where you will pass through different towns like Lukaya where the aroma of roasted meat will hit you. The place for a long time has provided refreshments and high-quality roasted kinds of meat to travelers. Through this town, you will have a chance to try out the delicious meat. On reaching Kayabwe, you will have the equator experience where you will pose at the equator and experiments of the north and southern hemispheres will be carried out. Lunch will be served in Mbarara town at Igongo cultural center which offers different cultural dishes like millet bread, Eshabwe, and dishes made with locally handmade ghee which is quite an adventure to taste the authentic dishes. After lunch your way to Fort Portal Town where you will be able to visit the Amabere Ganyinamwiru caves, after the trip to the caves, you will make your way to Kibale National Park. You will head to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation in Kibale National Park
On day 2 of the 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee habituation Safari in Uganda, after early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to the park, you will present your chimpanzee habituation permit to the park’s receptionist for verification, and after you will participate in the briefing session to understand the rules and regulations for chimpanzee habituation in Uganda, after the safari experience you will then make your way to hike through the Kibale forests which will give you access to a number of attractions from the bird species like; the blue turaco, Ross’s turaco, coqui Francolin, long tailed cisticola, bubbling cisticola, Miombo wren warbler, Chubb’s cisticola among other the bird species. You will also get to watch primates like the Mona monkey, vervet monkey, silver monkey, and dent’s monkey among other attractions. When you get to the habituation troop you will spend four hours with them understanding a number of their different features as they go about their daily activities. Interesting about the safari is the fact that you will get to participate in the training session which will give you more time with the species. After the safari experience, you will make your way back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park the home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas in Africa. On reaching your hotel, you will have lunch, relax, and await the next day’s activity. Alternatively, you can participate in the Batwa trail experience which will give you an insight into the previously forest people as you watch them participate in the different activities. After the experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla habituation and transfer to Kigali
As early as 5:00 am, you will be picked up by your safari guide to transfer you to the Rushaga sector the only sector where you can participate in gorilla habituation Bwindi impenetrable national park. On reaching the park, you will present your gorilla habituation permit for verification and later you will be assigned to a gorilla family that you will watch, a guide whose sole duty is to ensure you have a rewarding experience as they offer information about the gorillas and the ranger who will ensure you have a safe safari experience. After the briefing session about the rules and regulations to follow during your safari experience, you will embark on hiking through the impenetrable forests along the different trails. When you get to the gorilla family, you will get to spend four hours with the species watching how the species are trained to get accustomed to human presence, and with this, you will get to watch their authentic reactions to the different training sessions in the wild. Don’t forget to carry your camera because there is a lot to watch and capture of your safari experience. After the safari experience, you will then head back to your starting point where you will then be presented with your gorilla habituation permit after heading to Kigali City where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice Kigali City or Kigali International Airport.
