DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
At a location of your choice in Kigali city or Kigali International Airport, you will take part in the briefing session of your safari, the rules and regulations to follow, the different activities you will take part in, and other important features of the safari. After the session, your guide will drive you southwards of Kigali city and transfer you to the Cyangugu border on the way to Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, you will have a stopover in Butare where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda where you will get to see the evolution of Rwanda’s culture among other amazing features of the people of Rwanda, like the tools that were used during farming, the royal regalia among other features, you will also see the evolutions of the Rwanda culture before and after independence. After the amazing encounter, you will have lunch and make your way to Kahuzi Biega National Park, on reaching the park, you will check in your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel with your packed lunch, you will head to the park for the memorable adventure of participating in gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park. It should be noted that in Kahuzi Biega National Park you will get to track the lowland gorillas which are quite distinctive from the mountain gorillas that can be seen when you take part in tracking one hour with the gorillas. Upon reaching the park, you will be transferred to the reception where you will undergo the briefing session on gorilla trekking in the park after the session you will take part in the activity where you will get to understand the behavior of the lowland gorillas and how they co-exist with one another, their feeding patterns among other rewarding experiences of the primate later in the afternoon you will make your way back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up and transfer you back to Kigali city. Upon reaching you will take part in the Kigali city tour where you will get to visit memorable sites like the Kigali genocide memorial museum where you will get to understand the events that led to the occurrence of the Rwanda genocide, you will also get to visit the Kimironko market the largest market in Rwanda where you will get to purchase souvenirs, organic fruits, Rwanda traditional attires among other products. At the climax of your Kigali city tour, you will get to visit one of the restaurants in the city where you will have tasty Rwanda dishes. After the rewarding experience.
Day 4: Transfer to Akagera National Park, boat cruise, and a night game drive
At an agreed location in Kigali City, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to Akagera National Park to take part in a short game drive which will give you the chance to watch a number of animal species like the early risers grazing and enjoying the morning sun. After the morning game drive, you will head to your hotel for relaxation, and lunch and you will take part in the boat cruise of Lake Ihema which will give you access to a number of rewarding views and attractions like the endangered show Bill Stork. You will have access to a number of carnivores like lions, leopards, and many more species, or stay at your hotel to participate in a night game drive which will give you the chance to watch how the park comes to life when the sun sets. Day 5: Full-day game drive and departure
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and go for a morning game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals that rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill, especially the big cats like the leopard, lions, and many other carnivores. You will get to watch a number of herbivores like the rhinos grazing within the plains, elephants, gazelle, oribi, and many other rewarding game animals. After the morning game drives, you will head back to your hotel for refreshments and later in the afternoon transfer to take part in the evening game drive. Get ready to watch how the park comes to life as the sunsets with a number of predators coming from their hiding spots to catch prey, the herbivores catching their last bite for the day, the crocodiles can be seen sun-basking, elephants quenching their thirst from the river banks which will make your safari quite memorable.
